VW wanted $178 for labor to replace the two rear axle bushings on my jetta. i told them no way, i'll do it myself. two days of screwing around, and 4 bushings later, i finally have my car back together. it drives great and everything, but they're a real pain in the ass to change if anyone else is contemplating doing this. if I had to do it over again I'd pay the 178. FYI!!!!

had to do em on both my jetta's. (once each) bought the parts to do it myself the first time. got underneath and then decided to pay someone to install them.

2nd time around just went straight to the mechanic. (tho it can be done cheaper from a suspension shop then vw!)

muffler man on highland and westmount has done it for me. decent rates and good service. all they really do is exhaust, suspension and brakes.
